Our country has gifted this world with many gems of people. It's important and encouraging for all those striving to come up in life.

The "Great Lakes Institute of Management" is located in Saidapet in comely Chennai. It is believed that Great Lakes students get jobs in big companies with even bigger salaries the minute they finish their management course at this institute. On an average it has been estimated that this year 100% of the graduating students got offer letters with Rs.9.3 lakhs of salary. To the envy of other management schools due to their quality of educations that's offered in a short amount of time this school has grown well in the past 3 years.


The founder of this institute Bala V Balachandran was a student of statistics in the University of Annamalai in 1960s.After that he went to Chicago, USA where he joined very soon as a professor in the famous Kellogg School of Management. Today he does consultancy work for many big companies including US Air Force. He is one of an American–Indian who makes us all proud. Many businessmen have tremendous faith in his words. Students call him as 'Uncle Bala'.

He says "I didn't start this institute for money because in the end I will have only two names,” he says philosophically. “One is dead and the other is body."

Whatever we understand is science

All that was considered once as acts of God are now every days events because of the development of science. For example diseases like chickenpox were considered once as acts of God but now Science has found the reason behind it and also found the way to cure it.

Another example lets assume 50 yrs back a villager steps out of his house in a early morning and looks at the sky. He sees some writing in the sky. That's it that too would be considered, as an act of God or the entire village would have scared it as some alien from outer space had done it.

But today, it is quiet possible to do it. It is known as SKYWRITING or SKYTYPING. As we are snacking on peanuts we look at some writings on the sky without giving it much thought. Man has started using even the sky as his billboard to advertise. Now it’s up to God to safeguard his wall with warnings like "Stick no bills".

So it’s not only wise but also to keep our sanity let's have it that whatever we understand is science and what we don't understand is God. That gives us peace.

Satellites Weighing Some Pounds!

Due to Nano technology many things, which were humongous monsters, are turning into dwarves. Before satellites' weight was calculated in terms of tons not like now, for satellites are manufactured in kilograms now. Recently Israel launched a mini satellite (Ofeq 7) weighing only 300 kilograms. After mini satellites it will be Micro satellites and Nano satellites that are being manufactured.

The next spy satellite of Israel, Techstar will be launched from Sriharikota, India in the month of September just because geographically Israel is not in the right position to do so. In the year 2004 Israel's rocket Shavit failed and crashed into the sea. India has been successfully launching rockets for sometimes now and also because of Israel's confident in India's PSLV rocket they have sought India for the launching of their satellite. There might even be a military agreement between the two nations.

As the sizes of the satellites are decreasing they are attempting to launch the satellites from a cargo Boeing 747 or a fighter jet F-15. If that's successful without much preparation like dramatic countdowns and such, as the flight is flying from Chennai to Delhi they might launch some satellites on the way.

Can you imagine electricity can be generated from human beings - Yes, Till today electricity has been generated from mundane, lifeless things like Diesel oil, coal (Thermal Power Plants), from rapid waterfalls (Hydro Power Plants), Wind, Solar power, Nuclear power, Sea Waves etc. But nowadays electricity can be generated even from the small tremors caused by those people walking on Board Walks. It's called Crowd Farming System. This was proved by couple of MIT students – James Graham and Thaddeus Jusczyk. They have invented a chair, which can power a small light bulb if and when somebody sits on it. Actually there's a gym in Honk Kong who have proved this by charging the battery that lights up the gym from the power generated by the cyclists exercising in that gym. They also proudly announce the fact "Powered by You".

Look at the video and see how the youngsters who are enjoying evening beer and happily dancing in the pubs are helping to generate electricity without their knowledge.

Who knows what other changes this technology will bring about in future? God knows!

I don’t know why they haven't done anything with the non stop tremors created by the cars whizzing on the roads.
